Starting next Tuesday 12th May at 2pm, we will be hosting a weekly get together to read aloud. Â This series of book readings will focus on biographies of Mary Baker Eddy.
We will be starting with the biography by Irving Tomlinson – 12 Years with Mary Baker Eddy. Â We will read from the original (not the later version which was expanded). We thought that this would be a book which would be in most CS libraries. Â We don’t offer a formal lending service any more, but have a couple of copies which we could lend out for the duration of the read. Â It isn’t currently available for purchase either. Â If you don’t have it, maybe you can borrow it from a friend! Â If you need help here, please ring the Adelaide Reading Room on 8223 3230 and we will see if we can assist. Â Maybe you would just like to listen – and that is ok too.
The meeting this Tuesday on 12th May will be 1.5 hours – just so we can get some housekeeping out of the way. Â We will agree on the duration of future reading meetings – future meetings will be either 1 or 1.5 hours.
We will take turns to read aloud 2 pages and then spend some time in discussion if participants want to. Â You don’t have to participate in the reading, but are most welcome to listen and discuss if that is what you would like to do.
At the moment, we will not gather together in the Reading Room, but we will use Zoom for our meetings. Â As per usual you can use mobile phone, tablet or computer and get in via the internet, or you can telephone in. Â The meeting access information is DIFFERENT from the Sunday Services – so please see the information below if you would like to join us.
